Jordan Maxwell grew up in Raleigh, NC and currently lives in Boone, NC where she is completing her Bachelors of Health Sciences in Nutrition Dietetics. It was in Raleigh where she began formal yoga teacher training programs with Carson Efird-Westerlund and was first introduced to Ayurveda. Jordan admits that she knew almost instantly Ayurveda would become her lifelong study. After enrolling at Appalachian State University she continued her education with Carson and also began studying Prana Flow Vinyasa with Shiva Rea at the Samudra School of Yoga. Through this school she discovered a Living Ayurvedic Consultant program where she studied for two years in Santa Monica, CA with her teacher and mentor, Maria Garre, who studied and practices at the Institute of Ayurveda with Dr. Vasant Lad.
As Jordan continues to blossom on her path, she feels dedicated to a life-long study, practice, and teaching for both yoga and Ayurveda. As humans are nature, she sees it only logical to live in balance with nature and learn how to better understand it to improve our state of health. As stated by BKS Iyengar “healthy plants and trees yield abundant flowers and fruits. Similarly, from a healthy person, smiles and happiness shine forth like the rays of the sun.”
Jordan is a RYT-500 yoga certified and certificated as a Living Ayurvedic Consultant from the Samudra International School of Yoga.
