About Elena:

Born in Latvia and emigrated to Canada and then the United States in the early 90s, Elena quickly healed from longstanding and serious childhood conditions when she turned to a vegetarian diet based on Ayurvedic principles and stress relief techniques. She turned her newfound lifestyle into a life work and practiced under various Ayurvedic chefs, doctors and world renowned Yoga master Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Her experience includes a position as Head Chef at the Art of Living Retreat centers in Montreal, Canada and Boone, North Carolina, as well as Guest Chef on several episodes of the Food with Life TV show. She considers herself a cooking artist who shares vegetarian and vegan recipes that allow students to create their own unique flavors and presentations.



Cancellation Policy: Due to the nature of this workshop, full payment is required to reserve space in this workshop. If you have reserved a spot and cancel your registration at least 3 days prior to the date of the workshop, you will be refunded the cost of the workshop, less $5.00 fee for processing. If you cancel you registration with less than 3 days notice, you will be refunded 1/2 the registration cost. No refund will be made for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.

The Indian science of Ayurveda provides us natural methods to create balance within ourselves. In this system of health, certain foods are considered "super vegetables" because they contain healing properties and large amounts of nutritional content and energy. It is recommended that these vegetables be consumed regularly as they provide nutritional balance to our diets.

These super vegetables are used medicinally in Ayurveda to calm and soothe various systems in the body, including our digestive, cardiac and nervous systems. These vegetable are also considered tonics, aphrodisiacs and demulcents. These vital super veggies will help calm you and your family after a long day at work.

We will be preparing a cooling summer lunch menu:

Energy-rich soup with okra and plantain
Healing greens chutney
Cooling asparagus salad
*All recipes are gluten-free and vegan*
